The Riga Stock Exchange House - Venetian Glassworks
The Riga Stock Exchange House will be opened with three international exhibition projects: Venetian Glassworks - Contemporary art exhibition, Oriental Porcelain and the Netherlands and Interaction between East and West in the 17th century.
Now I want to tell more about the first.
Venetian Glassworks - from 20th August till 18th December.
The exhibition will form a bridge between Venetian biennale and Riga. Twelve internationaly known artists will participate at this exhibition. These artists in Berengo studio (Murano) will create artworks simultaneously for two exhibition halls - Palazzo Cavalli-Franchetti (1565) and for the Riga Stock Exchange House (1855). Both buildings are examples of Venetian architecture: the first -real, the latter - imitation. One - in Italy, the other in Latvia. Exhibition is intended as a dialogue between the present and the past - the contemporary and the classical.
The exhibition is being realized together with the Veneto region (Italy).
The project is lead by the Berengo studio.
