Elektromagnetic - Modern art in Northern Europe, 1918 - 1931

I am back after long time.I was in Haugesund Billedgalleri in this summer. (Jeg likte:) About it I will write in next post.
And now is another new in Norway. Exhibition "Elektromagnetic - Modern art in Northern Europe 1918 - 1931" in Henie Onstad centre of art (kunstsenter) .

The main question - What role did Scandinavian and Baltic artists play in the international art arena during the 1920?

N.Strunke

"This exhibition focuses on a time when things were different, but when there was  nevertheless a willingness to participate in a larger, European  fellowship of artists and a great need  to connect with international movement of art."

Tomass Fēnikss (1967 - 2006)

Friday.Afternoon. I wanted to visit some art exhibition and suddenly found  new branch of one gallery (Māksla XO Galerija). Exhibition "Overweight". Tomass Fenikss (1967-2006). For me new painter and new style. As is written in broshure of exhibition

Artworks of Tomass Fēnikss are so filled  with expression that deny any genre limitations and challenge the convetional  reality creating a new and individual artist's view of the world.
His art is close to avant-garde movement COBRA (Copenhagen/Brussels/Amsterdam) popular movement in Europe in the 50s.
