 I got this idea about both painters in the exhibitions in Karmøy 2014. Exhibition was organized by Lions Club Karmsund.

Oscar Wergeland (1844-1910)

I skogen, In the wood, 1872, 25000

Utdannet ved Kunstakademiet i København og Kunstakademiet i Munchen. Deltatt flere ganger på Statens Høstutstilling og Verdensutstilling i Paris i 1878 og 1889. Medlem i komiteen for Verdensutstillingen i Paris og har fått utmerkelsen "Mention honorable" Paris 1889.

Hans hovedverk er det store og kjente "Riksforsamlingen på Eidsvold 1814" i Stortinget, malt 1885.

Nikolay Kulainis (1901-1975)

He was a fugitive in Moscow at the I World war time. Since 1919 artist lived in Riga.

He learned at the Latvian Art Academy (1924-1931). Since 1929 he took part at the exhibitions. After the II World war time he took part at the republican exhibitions rarely, but exhibited own works in small self exhibitions in Riga.

He painted mainly urban landscapes, Riga`s sights at night, where he founded a special painting manner.

I continue to discover painters from the exhibition in Karmøy 2014. Exhibition was organized by Lions Club Karmsund.

Roald Tellnes (f./born 1946 i Bergen). Bosatt Norheim.

Deltatt på Vestlandutstillingen, Sørlandsutstillingen, Statens Høstutstilling og Europa-utstillingen i Brussel.
Innkjøpt av bl.a. Søllerød Kommune i Danmark, Rogaland fylke og Norsk Kulturråd. Utstillinger i New York, New Orleans og Seattle. Kunstneren har deltatt på samtlige av Kamøy utstillinger!

Kunstneren maler sine stemningsbilder fra hav og strand, fyllt av salt sjø, og det kan vel sies at han er trollbundet av havet. Da han har slektsrøtter til Karmøy er det naturlig for ham å finne motiver også herfra. Han har deltatt på Vestlandsutstillingen og Statens Høstutstilling.
