From 20 April to 20 May Jēkabs art galllery hosts an exhibition dedicated to artists-sposes. Inta Celmiņa and Edvards Grube, Karlis and Inta Dobraja, Liena Baklane and Paulis Postazs are just some of presented artists that live and work together.
"The field of work we both share is the most valuable part of our life", says Inta Celmiņa in the book about Edvards Grube.
The feeling of togetherness and inspiration comes from a similar artistic experience, creative interaction, mutual professional guest, or even immediate criticism. Even completely irrational actions may receive support from a spouse artist, and this is a great benefit, value and advantage. Can two artists co-exist and create equally talented artworks? Can two personalities remain free and unbounded in close proximity to each other? Also, apparently, these questions are not standing in the way of spouses whose works are presented at the exhibition.
